I had a lovely luncheon and afternoon tea for my birthday today, with family members.
It is still quite cold and after some searching found these aviation videos that I found facinating; perhaps you will too.

I'd Rather be Flying!
As I sit here on a rather cold Melbourne day, my thoughts turn to my many escapades with my friends in the Royal Victorian Aero Club. On Australia Day, Easter and Melbourne Cup weekend we would head for the skies, and to places such as Broken Hill, Arkaroola or Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges, and Port Lincoln etc. The weather was warmer there, and provided new horizons to explore. Groups consisted of anything up to 72 people in 17 aircraft. What fun we had.
I have flown many types of light aircraft, but my favourite was the A36 Beechcraft Bonanza which cruised at 150 knots (278Kph).
When I win the lottery, (if I ever buy a ticket), then I will purchase one of the new Light Sport Aircraft such as the Flight Design CTLS. A lovely two seat high wing design that cruises at 100 Kts.
